Chiropractic Care
Health is defined as:
“A state of optimal physical, mental, and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease and infirmity.”
– Dorland’s Medical Dictionary
A healthy spine is usually well aligned, flexible and strong. This allows healthy movement, nerve function and the ability to perform day-to day tasks easily. When the spine and nerve system is compromised, this often affects daily function and may have adverse effects on your quality of life.
Chiropractic care places an emphasis on having good nerve system communication to the brain and focuses on the whole person. This may also include advice about nutrition, exercise and lifestyle modifications.
Our Techniques
Our Chiropractors are experienced in a range of techniques. From the basic Chiropractic techniques learned at University, to the more complex techniques learned through experience and further study, we offer a range of styles. Using your history, examination findings and x-rays (where required), your Chiropractor will recommend the technique which is best suited to your body and your preferences.
Your peace-of-mind is important to us and we take the time to discuss what kind of adjustments you would prefer. We offer manual adjustments (using our hands), but understand that this technique is not everyone’s cup of tea. In fact, if the idea of cracking noises puts you off Chiropractic then this technique is not for you, we can advise you about other non-cracking, low force adjustments.
We offer activator (small hand-held instrument), biomechanical blocks (wedge-shaped blocks placed under the pelvis) and drop-piece adjustments (using specialised table). These techniques often eliminate the cracking noise.
So whether your preference is for hands-on manual adjustments or low-force instrument-assisted adjustments we can help you, and how we do that really is driven by you.
The techniques we predominantly use include manual Diversified, Activator, Sacro-Occipital Technique, Webster Technique (during pregnancy), Cranial work and Applied Kinesiology (AK). We will discuss these techniques with you before any care is begun so that you know what to expect.
